The Beaumont Dieter
Having spent the last eight months losing sixty one pounds and with another seven to go, I am always looking for ways to eat sensibly on a budget. I have stayed away from McDonalds until just recently when I ventured through the drive thru to purchase a grilled chicken salad. At just under five dollars it is huge, fresh, tasty and filling. With the balsamic vinaigrette it is only 350 calories. But it was disturbing to me to spend that five bucks every other day. And besides, there was so much lettuce that it was really hard to finish.
So today I had a brainstorm! I ordered a side salad with the vinaigrette for a dollar. Then I asked for a grilled chicken snack wrap for a buck-forty nine. If you order the wrap with no sauce and toss away the wrap...voila! A 'just right' sized grilled chicken salad for only $2.49! I was so tickled with myself that I had to start this blog to share my idea.
Of course, preparing meals at home with lots of fresh food is always best. But on the days when your life interferes with your cooking, the small salad from Mickey D is an inexpensive, healthy choice. Besides, you get to smell all the fries!

For some reason, the first paragraph of my post didn't show up. I was lamenting the cost of the totally yummy grilled chicken salad at McDonalds when I had a brainstorm.
